Stablecoin payments without platform cuts

USDT (Tether) is the most widely used stablecoin for freelance payments: it tracks the US dollar, settles in minutes, and works across borders without bank delays. On HireByCrypto you can add your USDT addresses to your profile, agree on payment directly with buyers, and keep the full amount โ€” the platform takes 0% commission.

Which USDT network should you use?

The same token exists on several networks. Buyer and freelancer must use the same one.

TRC-20 (TRON)

Very popular for payments and supported by almost every exchange. Addresses start with T. Transfers need a small amount of TRX energy/bandwidth.

BEP-20 (BNB Chain)

Low fees and EVM-compatible wallets such as MetaMask or Trust Wallet. Addresses start with 0x; fees are paid in BNB.

Polygon

Very low fees and EVM-compatible. Addresses also start with 0x, so always confirm the network โ€” not only the address.

Step by step: getting paid in USDT

  1. Create a wallet you control (or use a deposit address from your exchange) for the network you prefer.
  2. Add the address to your HireByCrypto profile so buyers can see which networks you accept.
  3. Before work starts, confirm the amount, the token (USDT), the network and the payment schedule in chat.
  4. For a new client, ask for a small test transfer first.
  5. After each payment, check the transaction hash on a block explorer (Tronscan, BscScan or PolygonScan) before delivering the next milestone.

Avoid the most common mistakes

  • Wrong network: BEP-20 and Polygon addresses look the same. Funds sent on the wrong network can be lost or hard to recover.
  • No gas token: you need a little TRX, BNB or POL to move USDT out of your wallet later.
  • Payment screenshots: a screenshot is not proof. Only a confirmed transaction on the block explorer is.
  • Exchange deposit rules: some exchanges only credit certain networks โ€” check before sharing an exchange address.

Invoices, records and taxes

Keep a simple record for each job: client, date, amount in USDT, network and transaction hash. Many freelancers also send a short invoice in USD. Tax rules for crypto income differ by country, so check what applies to you or ask a local accountant.

No. HireByCrypto charges 0% commission. Payment happens directly between you and the buyer, so you only pay the network fee.

If the receiving address exists on that network and you control its private key (for example a self-custody EVM wallet), you can often still access the funds by switching networks in your wallet. Exchange deposit addresses may not be recoverable, so always confirm the network first.

Yes. USDT is the most common, but buyers and freelancers can agree on USDC, BTC, ETH or any other asset they both accept.
