Smart contract freelancers for tokens, NFTs and DeFi features

Smart contracts are small pieces of code that hold real money, so the person who writes them matters. On HireByCrypto you can find freelance Solidity developers and reviewers, compare their gigs in Web3 & Blockchain and Programming & Tech, and agree on scope directly — without a marketplace taking a percentage of the contract value.

Common smart contract jobs

Token contracts

ERC-20 / BEP-20 tokens with mint, burn, tax or vesting logic, based on audited OpenZeppelin libraries.

NFT collections

ERC-721 / ERC-1155 contracts with allowlists, reveal mechanics, royalties and mint pages.

Staking & vesting

Simple staking pools, token lockers, airdrop claim contracts and vesting schedules for teams.

Code reviews

A second pair of eyes on an existing contract: access control, reentrancy, upgradeability and gas usage.

Testing & deployment

Hardhat or Foundry test suites, testnet deployments, verification on block explorers.

Upgrades & fixes

Extending an existing proxy contract or fixing a bug found after launch — with a migration plan.

What to send a smart contract developer

Share a short specification: the token standard, every role (owner, minter, admin), every fee or limit, and what should happen in edge cases. If you are copying behaviour from an existing project, send its verified contract address. A clear spec is the single biggest factor in price and delivery time.

A freelance review is not a full audit

A freelance code review is a valuable, affordable check for small contracts. For contracts that will hold significant value, plan for a formal audit from a dedicated security firm as well, and run a public testnet period first. Ask your developer to deliver tests with high coverage — it makes any later audit faster and cheaper.

Protect your keys and ownership

  • Deploy from a wallet you control, or have ownership transferred to your multisig immediately after deployment.
  • Keep the source code in your own repository and verify it on the block explorer.
  • Never share seed phrases or private keys — not even "temporarily".

Paying for contract work

Split the job into milestones: specification, tests on testnet, final deployment. Pay each milestone in stablecoins after review. See how USDT payments work and our general crypto payments checklist.

Smart contract hiring FAQ

Yes. Many freelancers offer fixed-price review gigs for small contracts. Send the verified address or repository and describe what the contract is supposed to do.

Yes. EVM-compatible chains such as BNB Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum and Base use the same Solidity code. Some freelancers also work with Rust (Solana) or FunC/Tact (TON).

Agree on this before work starts. The usual arrangement is that the buyer owns the code and deployed contracts once the final milestone is paid.

No. HireByCrypto charges 0% commission to both buyers and freelancers.
